dayum Gina, why'd you have to use THAT pic? *runs to turn on some D'angelo* LOL
Around last spring my friend came out to me and somehow we ended up making a list of movies/TV shows about lesbians, and I suggested TLW (I had never seen it, but I'd heard of it).
She wanted to watch it so I found it online and gave her the link and I forget how, but we started watching it together. Like a week later, we had this conversation:
Her: You know, you're the only straight girl I know who watches The L Word. Me: Yeah, well, I dunno, I don't think you have to like girls to watch it, you can just find the plot interesting. Her: Are you gay? Me: Um, yeah.
Not word for word, but that's the cliffnotes version. I thought it was funny that I saw this post here.
Not saying straight girls don't watch it, but for the most part I think you have to have some kind of gayness in you to love the show. Most of my friends are straight and they're grossed out by lesbians so I couldn't imagine them watching it.
Straight people, straight women in general, love to say they are grossed out by two women having sex. But I know that each one of them have thought long and hard on the subject. I was married for 8 years to a man. Most of my friends were straight. I have had 30 straight women in my living room talking sex. They all are curious. Very curiuos. get them talking and it is amazing what they say they would try.
I've been watching TLW for years and I'm mostly straight, but then, I'm a man...it's pretty normal for straight men to want to watch hot chicks making out... ;-) TLW makes me lonely sometimes too, because those people have relationships, and I have never even kissed a girl, it seems like all my attempts to be closer to women have been negative experiences. I get offers from men though, oddly...they have to look like girls/androgynous for me to be into them though...lmao... ;-)
lmao my friend tryed to tell me for years that she was not gay, and that she only watch the show cuz it made her laugh. Needless to say she finally came out to me about two months ago and told me how much she was in love wit me. but dame this is one of the top five hottest L word sceens in my book. I love shane and carmen to this day. :)
I LOOOOOVE watching The L Word, for the sex and the story line. I think you just have to have an open mind to watch TLW. I believe in "free love" (thanks Angelina Jolie for the term), I've only had sex with men, but I'm very curious in women.
Hmm...Well, Im a straight female. Ive seen the show before. Its not that i dont like it (because its actually interesting/sad...etc.) Its just that, well, its kind of "oversexed". Like, everytime you turn around you see a nipple, a dildo or someone making out. Though there are real situations on this show, i just dont think that there need to be so many sex scenes.
hmmm well...i watched the first episode because of Mia Kirshner who is one of my favs and i was curious( haha, ambiguous word) how she is in it. And then from episode to episode i was more and more interested. Plots and characters ARE interesting so i keep watching it, still considering myslef as straight though:D Maybe that's why some of the sex scenes seem too rough for my sublimate taste:)
And, as i thought, Mia is the brightest. Seriously, Jenny is amazingly real and her plot is just awesome. cheers! katie

yeah i'm sure they thought about it before and maybe that's the reason they are homophobic! i used to be one of those straight girls so i know.

Awww I know TLW makes me wish I had a relationship too.
i just wish i had friends who were that close to me. i have none. no joke. thats why i watch tlw-live vicariously throught them.

That made me laugh so hard my side hurt.

TLW=Heaven.
Enough said :)
I'm just sad it has to end this year.
Although overly dramatized you can't tell me their relationships are so much more interesting. I (heart) TLW.
